INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY (8 MARCH 2009)

International Women's Day is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.

International Women's Day has been observed since in the early 1900's, a time of great expansion and disorder in the industrialized world that saw blooming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.

The first IWD was run in 1911 so in just a few years time 2011 sees the IWD Global Centenary.
